About
The story so far
Some names carry the weight of an entire season.
Zilvi was one of those names.
A humble start, it all began in the basement of our small suburban home in Brisbane in 2014. From the very beginning, it was never simply about making beautiful things - it was about telling stories. Every design that found its way into your hands and homes carried a little piece of mine.
Over the years, life unfolded in ways I never expected. Motherhood reshaped my heart. Creativity became both my livelihood and my sanctuary. We traded city streets for 60 acres in the mountains, where my studio became the place I poured so much of myself into. It was a beautiful season, but one that often held the tension between creating at a relentless pace and quietly longing for something slower.
So, we sold our home, packed up our lives and travelled Australia, following a quiet pull towards something I couldn't yet name. Somewhere along that journey, I realised that while Zilvi would always be woven into my story, it belonged to a version of my life that had gently come to its end.
It leaves behind a legacy woven into who I am, but seasons are not meant to last forever.
Life asked me to begin again.
Today, my son Felix and I are building a slower, more intentional life on 40 acres in Woodford, Queensland. It's a life that feels quieter, simpler and far more connected to what matters most.
This season has also invited me back to creativity - not with expectation, but with curiosity. I'm exploring painting, pottery and writing, allowing myself to become a beginner again. Instead of striving for perfection, I'm learning to fall in love with the process of creating, trusting that whatever grows from this season will do so in its own time.
My hope is that soon these new creations will once again find their way into your hands and your homes. And as you saw Zilvi evolve from a simple idea, you'll be part of this journey from the beginning too. You'll witness the experimenting, the learning, the failures, the small victories and everything in between.
As for Zilvi, I couldn't imagine simply letting it disappear.
While I could have sold the brand and watched it become someone else's, that never felt like the right ending. Instead, I chose to gift both the name and the designs to another mother - a woman whose path has echoed my own in many ways, and who is stepping into a season of renewal with courage and creativity. It feels deeply fitting that something which carried me through one season might now help carry another woman through hers.
It's a quiet passing of the torch. A legacy continued - not by me, but by Shar who understands how much heart has always lived inside the Zilvi name.
Which brings me here.
Names matter.
Via means through. A path. A passage. It speaks to moving through life's seasons rather than around them - to becoming through every joy, every loss, every unexpected turn.
June was my nan, the artist who came before me. She quietly showed me that making with your hands could be a way of living. She painted, she created. This name carries her legacy forward and reminds me that creativity often flows through generations before we even realise it.
Together, Via June speaks of the journey that has shaped me and the one still unfolding. I like to think she's guiding me into this season.
This is a place where I'll share myself discovering painting, pottery and writing alongside motherhood. I'm going back to creating a life by hand.
It's never too late to begin again.
Join me as Via June.
